Confidence can be hard to find. Have the confidence to pursue your dreams! The daily pressures of owning a growing business, balancing your personal life, and raising your standard of living can be daunting especially in today’s business environment.

Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed?

Does your business manage you, rather than you managing your business?

Are your salon profits increasing?

Are your staff out of control?

These are just some of the questions many salon owners face daily in trying to grow their business. Owners must wear many hats in trying to deal with adversity and the challenges of owning your own business. The following tips will help you meet adversity head on with confidence. It is my wish that these few tips will help you regain your passion and determination with confidence.

Fierce Competitor — Learn to compete to be the best. Competition is good. Peaks and valleys in business is part of the growing process. Take adversity as a challenge to be the best. Be a fierce competitor by seeking out on going education, especially in the area of developing powerful business management skills. Always look for the opportunities offered during adversity, and never give up!

You’re Not Alone — Help is available. I formed Hairdresser Career Development Systems free of any special interest groups to provide quality real world educational guidelines that will help you overcome the many challenges of owning a successful and profitable business. I was able to overcome these challenges and retire financially independent and debt free. If I can do it, so can you! I want to make your journey easier than mine.

Determination — When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Find what it takes for you to never give up, work on your inner strength. Remember, if you want success, only you can stop yourself. Courage isn’t having the strength to go on, it’s going on when you don’t have the strength.

Take a Break — Sometimes you just have to step away from your business and refocus. Our Salon Owners Conference Cruise to the Caribbean would be a great way to rest up and recharge your batteries.

Don’t Worry — Don’t let worry dictate your every action and consume your life. Live in the moment, enjoy life, and count your blessings. There are others going through exactly what you’re experiencing. Be thankful for good health, family, and the ability to be anything you want.

You can do two things: worry and hope everything will get better, or do something about it and take action. You control your own destiny. The only way to face the challenges you have up ahead is with confidence.
