“The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts”

Most of our salons are closed due to the Corona Virus.

Many of you are worried about how to survive in business while many of our hairdressers are concerned with their livelihoods.

My message to you is this virus will end, I hope soon. This is the time to reflect on the past and plan for the future.

Our profession will never be the same.
Our education and business practices will require new ideas, educational reform, and innovation.
Business practices that may have succeeded in the past are now outdated and obsolete

Let us use this free time to move forward and prepare for the reopening of your salon when this virus is over.

Fortunately, I have been able to retire financially independent and debt-free which has allowed me to share my 43 years of real-world experiences to help my fellow colleagues meet and overcome the challenges of business and career-building with confidence. My goal is to help find solutions to the many challenges we must overcome.

After 43 years as a working hairdresser/salon owner, author, business consultant and mentor to hairdressers, and ten years as an educator, and business entrepreneur, I can tell it like it is.

I know many of you are concerned and worried about overcoming the Corona Virus, this will pass.

While most of you are confined to your home, I decided to move forward with educational content to help you prepare for the reopening of your salons and careers. It’s time for change and redirection.

The heart and soul of our profession are you the beauty professionals who work hard daily in our salons trying to make a good living. I’m sure everything that has happened to you has probably happened to me in my 43 years as a salon owner. I’m one of the 7% of salons who make it beyond 7 years.

You may want to learn from my success and failures and avoid learning by trial and error.

Learning by trial and error in today’s complex and changing business climate is just too costly in terms of time and money.

Many will argue that education is too costly, I say try ignorance.

You may not agree with everything I have to say, we can agree to disagree. I am just adding my opinion.

In order to be objective and focused on your educational and business needs, I do not allow any product companies to sell or promote their products on my website, they have enough exposure.

I offer no glitter and hype so prevalent at many of our hair shows, instead, I formed Hairdresser Career Development Systems to offer a new direction in education, helping you plan for the future when this virus ends.

Finding solutions to the many challenges of building a successful and profitable business and help our hairdressers improve their standard of living—personally, professionally, and financially, is my goal.

My only business is education. Far too many of our hairdressers and salon owners are struggling to stay in business due to the coronavirus.

Today’s hairdresser and salon owner will have to know more than developing their  artistic skills.

Salon owners will also need to develop powerful business management skills, while hairdressers will need to focus on their personal development skills as well.

I want to help you because I respect those of you who have a passion for education and self-improvement.

The heart and soul of our professions and the future of our profession depend on the success of all the hard-working,  salon owners and hairdressers who work hard every day trying to make a better life for themselves and their families.

I invite you to visit my education-only website for ongoing business and success tips which are free. My blog posts will also be available as well.

We will get over this virus, now is the time to look forward to a better future.

Sincerely
Jon Gonzales
