We need more unity in the professional sector, we are against unlicensed stylist working from home at cheaper prices. That needs to stop, penalty needs to be stiffer. This puts a little strain on beauty salons locally.

Oh Jon,
You’ve hit all the correct buttons.
I have had in the past a salon owner come into my Salon/Spa and offer the staff jobs. But you know what they say what comes around goes around. I DO NOT or ever will bow down that low to find an employee.
I now have a constant communication with my employee’s on this tactic and what the real commission looks like at this particular salon.
I do believe that you have to constant dialog and coaching with the employee’s on how to grow their business. If their business grows so does mine! They need to feel valued, and that they are a Hugh asset to your business! Monthly meetings are a must in our salon/spa!

It would be awesome if all of your wish lists for salon owners could become a reality. But with hard work and determination, I believe that they can. Your cruise sounds awesome. Count me in!

Make sure you visit my blog Sunday,will be making a special announcement, thank you for being a real professional,getting ahead at the expense of others is just wrong,I am planning a salon owners summit conference ,we,ll start regionally,then have a national conference planned for a one week crusie to the eastern Caribbean,2012,spread the word,it is time we band together and take back our salons ,our profession, and follow a code of ethics

I couldn’t agree with you more. If salon owners would have respect for each other we would be a stronger industry. I have had people tell me to go to another salon & have services done & offer staff a job. I have never done because I believe it is unethical. However, I have had other salon owners offer some of my staff jobs & I find it offensive. I am looking forward to learning more from you!
